There’s a preso at FITC next month from litl channel developer Kevin Suttle:
It’s All About Context
Flash is everywhere now. On the desktop, in pockets, and even on TVs. The key to making your application uniquely valuable is to provide a consistent user experience by focusing on context. While we have the tools to create/author 80% of the code and interface, we must take notice of the uniqueness of the device and platform to deliver an optimal experience that is mobilized, not minimized. Discover how screen size, available interface controls, use-case – the context of your app – dictate how the last 20% of the experience needs to be tailored. In this session, we’ll explore the workflow of authoring and deploying the same app across a variety of contexts including web (Flash Player 10.1), mobile (Android phone) and TV (litl OS – developer.litl.com).
Time: 11:15 AM
Date: Tuesday August 17
Room: Conference Room 4

I caught this tweet about cloud computing, recently. Thought I’d share the link on the blog.

I let someone that is of average computer savvy (i.e. they know how to login, use a mouse, web-browser, email, etc) borrow my litl to use for a bit (due to Windows tech issues).
Here’s some of their feedback from using it the first time:
- light weight
- cool doesn’t get hot
- like the litl icon on top left it’s like a desktop icon
- font is small, and strains the eyes. Might be hard (to read) if you’re not used to a computer.
- functional

Apparently litl is giving a talk at Adobe MAX 2010 in October. Here are the (early) details:
Authoring Flash Experiences for Every Room in the House
Chuck Freedman (blog, Twitter)
Open, multi-player games and HD Video in the living room, interactive cooking in the kitchen, DIY guides in the garage and even storytime are just some of the ways users and families are now experiencing Flash content throughout the home. Chuck Freedman (@chuckstar | chuckstar.com/blog), Flash platform expert and Chief Channel Evangelist at litl, will show you how Flash content plays on many cool, in-home devices from Sony, Nintendo, litl and more, exploring why creators should take special note of different form factors, simplified user experiences and the new distribution channels that make this an exciting opportunity.

According to the litl developer blog there’s a couple of events happening this week where litl will be talking about there new Flash-based SDK.
To get our developer community acquainted with our Flash-based SDK, we’re happy to offer a special live video session with code examples and giveaways! We’ll be walking through one of our sample web-apps, or “channels”, and answering questions about the litl SDK’s custom controls.
As a special, litl is giving away a free pass to FITC San Francisco (August 17-19) to one lucky participant in our SDK webinar. All you have to do is sign up for the SDK and register for one of the webinars (below), and you’re entered in the drawing.
Speaking of FITC San Francisco, we’re excited to announce that we be there as a silver sponsor! Our own Kevin Suttle will be presenting a session, “It’s All About Context,” on building applications for different screens. Read all about it on Kevin’s blog.

First litl webbook I’ve seen advertised for sale on ebay. I’ve put a watch on it. Hope it finds a good home.
